These Terms of Service explain the rules for using LocalLink. By using LocalLink, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the app or website.
1. About LocalLink
LocalLink is a platform that helps customers discover, contact and book independent local service providers. LocalLink may provide tools for business profiles, services, bookings, messages, payments, availability and customer management.
Unless clearly stated otherwise, businesses listed on LocalLink are independent third-party service providers. LocalLink is not the employer, agent, partner or direct service provider for those businesses.
2. User accounts
Users may need an account to access certain features. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure, keeping your information accurate and telling us promptly if you believe your account has been misused.
3. Customer responsibilities
- Provide accurate booking and contact information.
- Only make genuine booking requests.
- Treat businesses and other users respectfully.
- Check service details, pricing and availability before booking.
- Comply with any reasonable appointment, access or safety requirements.
4. Business responsibilities
- Provide accurate business, service, price and availability information.
- Hold any licences, insurance, permissions or qualifications required for the services offered.
- Deliver services professionally, safely and lawfully.
- Respond to bookings, cancellations, messages and customer issues appropriately.
- Avoid misleading claims, fake reviews, unlawful content or abusive behaviour.
5. Bookings
Booking features are designed to help customers and businesses arrange local services. A booking may be subject to the business’s availability, service area, pricing, cancellation approach and acceptance of the booking.
LocalLink may show booking statuses such as pending, confirmed, cancelled or completed. Users should check all booking details carefully before confirming.
6. Payments, refunds and cancellations
Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers such as Stripe. Payment availability and payment methods may vary depending on the business and platform configuration.
Refunds and cancellations may depend on the timing of cancellation, the business’s policy, payment provider rules, legal obligations and platform safety checks. LocalLink may help process technical payment flows but is not responsible for the quality or performance of services provided by independent businesses.
7. Reviews, messages and user content
Users and businesses may be able to create content such as profiles, service descriptions, messages, photos, booking notes or reviews. You are responsible for the content you provide.
You must not upload, send or publish content that is:
- illegal, abusive, threatening, harassing or discriminatory;
- sexually explicit or inappropriate for a local services marketplace;
- false, misleading, fraudulent or impersonating another person or business;
- infringing someone else’s intellectual property, privacy or legal rights;
- spam, malware, phishing, scam content or harmful technical material.
LocalLink may remove content, restrict features or suspend accounts where we believe these terms have been breached or where needed to protect users, businesses or the platform.
8. Prohibited conduct
- Using LocalLink for illegal or fraudulent activity.
- Creating fake accounts, fake businesses, fake bookings or fake reviews.
- Harassing, abusing or threatening other users.
- Attempting to bypass security, payment or platform restrictions.
- Scraping, copying or misusing LocalLink data without permission.
- Uploading harmful code or interfering with the app or website.
9. Platform changes and availability
LocalLink may update, change, suspend or remove features as the platform develops. We aim to provide a reliable service, but we cannot guarantee that LocalLink will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.
10. Third-party services
LocalLink may rely on third-party services for hosting, authentication, maps, payments, analytics, messaging, notifications and app-store distribution. Those services may have their own terms and policies.
11. Intellectual property
LocalLink’s name, branding, design, software, website content and platform materials belong to LocalLink or its licensors. You must not copy, modify, reverse engineer or commercially exploit LocalLink without permission.
Users and businesses retain responsibility for content they provide but grant LocalLink permission to use that content as needed to operate, display, promote, moderate and improve the platform.
12. Limitation of liability
LocalLink provides a platform for connecting customers and independent businesses. To the fullest extent permitted by law, LocalLink is not responsible for losses arising from services provided by third-party businesses, user conduct, missed appointments, inaccurate user-provided information, disputes between users, or events outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
13. Suspension or termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts, remove content or restrict access where we believe a user has breached these terms, created risk for others, misused the platform, or where required for legal, security or operational reasons.
14. Account deletion
Users can request account deletion at /delete-account.html or by contacting support@locallinkapp.co.uk. Some records may be retained where required for payment, legal, accounting, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution purposes.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless mandatory local consumer protection laws apply.
